TRANSPORT IN CUBA.
 The
most significant mean of transportation in Havana were a type
of buses called "camello" (camel), and it is a total
adventure get on one of them, even if it is used for a short
trajectory. (See the picture)
Now, "camellos" have been moved to other provinces.
For going from one place to another, we strongly recommend
to use taxis, buses or small tricycles called "cocotaxis".
There are two national bus companies in Cuba serving all the
country.
Viazul, which operates a modern and comfortable fleet for
longer distance routes especially created for tourists. Astro,
which operates with buses generally imported from China.
You could also rent a car
to travel throughout
the island.
This is a very nice way to visit many places in different
provinces, mainly if travelling for a short period of time.
